Fungus on the feet: symptoms, causes
Fungi are diseases caused by fungal organisms. Usually the infection affects the feet and then spreads to the nails.
It is easy to get this disease-walking barefoot in areas where the fungus already exists is sufficient.
In most cases, infections occur in public places-saunas, showers, swimming pools. Humid environment is suitable for spore reproduction. The dander stays on the floor, carpet and even towels together with the fungus.
If the tools are not sterile, they can easily be infected with fungus in a pedicure salon.
The symptoms of fungus on the feet are different because they depend on the type of infection. However, there are several common features. I will tell you more about them.
In my practice, the most common symptoms of fungus on the legs are:
- The skin of the feet continues to be itchy, especially in the area between the toes;
- foul smell;
- Changes in the color and structure of the toenails;
- Peeling or thickening of the skin;
- Small cracks and wounds appear;
- Pain when walking;
- Forms bubbles with liquid.
If you notice these signs so as not to damage your health, I suggest you consult a doctor, as medication may be needed.
The cause of foot fungus varies. Among them, my colleague pointed out:
- Mechanical damage to nails and skin;
- Low-quality shoes;
- Increased sweating;
- Destroy the immune and endocrine system;
- Age-related changes (older people are more susceptible to fungal infections than children);
- Some diseases (diabetes, metabolic disorders).
To avoid infection with fungus, please pay attention to your shoes and maintain good hygiene when going to public places.
This also applies to the home: you may infect other family members. Do not use other people's things under any circumstances.

Potassium Permanganate Foot Bath
Potassium permanganate is a good disinfectant. Potassium permanganate tray will help reduce itching and discomfort.
Prepare the product as follows: Dissolve 1 gram of potassium permanganate (in granular form) in 2 warm water. The solution should be pale pink. Soak for 20 minutes.
Tray containing soda water and tea tree oil
Baking soda will soften the skin and nail plates. The tea tree will disinfect and promote healing of the affected area.
Dissolve 3 tablespoons in 3 warm water. Lake soda. Soak for 20 minutes.
Then dry your feet, treat the affected area with a pumice stone or a special foot grinder, and lubricate the skin with tea tree oil.
Vinegar plate
Vinegar is very effective on foot fungus and can prevent it from multiplying. Therefore, bathing with this tool will help you quickly forget the problem. Take 9% vinegar as an example: it is more effective than cider and wine.
When taking a bath, mix water and vinegar at a ratio of 8: 1. Put your feet in the bathtub for 20 minutes.
If you steam your legs and treat them with pumice stones, the effect of this procedure will increase.
Celandine Bath
The properties of celandine are encrypted by its name. Therefore, the plant will help to deal with the fungus between the toes.
First, prepare the decoction: 5 tablespoons. The lake poured the chopped celandine into one liter of boiling water and let it stand for one hour. Immerse your feet in the warm infusion solution and keep it for 15 minutes.
Calendula bath
Medicinal plants have a good effect on fungi, so a calendula bath will help eliminate infections.
Do this: Pour 200 grams of dried marigolds with one liter of boiling water. Hold on for 30-40 minutes. Then dip your feet into the hot soup. The bath time is 15 minutes.
Please note that the information provided is for reference only. In order to correctly choose the necessary method to treat the fungus, I recommend going to the doctor's office.
In the fight against fungi, it is important to perform the procedure regularly-every day until the infection is completely eliminated. After bathing, dry your feet with a clean towel. Don't forget your shoes-treat them regularly with preservatives. My colleague said that careful foot care is needed to prevent the problem from happening again.
